Edward Norton comments "Hulk" controversy on Facebook

40 year old Edward Norton shared his thoughts and feelings in regards of not being called to repeat his role as Dr Bruce Banner (A.K.A. The Hulk) for the upcoming The Avengers Movie.

“As most of you know, I don’t like to talk much about the business of making movies because it means a lot to me to protect the audience’s fullest enjoyment of the “magic” that films can have. But I am so appreciative of the outpouring of support from fans of the Hulk and the Avengers that I feel it would be rude not to respond. So here goes: It seems it won’t work out for me to continue playing Bruce Banner for Marvel in The Avengers.”

“I sincerely hoped it could happen and be great for everyone, but it hasn’t turned out as we all hoped. I know this is disappointing to many people and that makes me sad. But I am very sincerely grateful to Marvel for extending the offer and even more so for giving me the chance to be a part of the Hulk’s long and excellent journey.
“And I really can’t thank the fans enough for how much enthusiasm you’ve sent my way about what Louis [LeterrierThe Incredible Hulk's director] and I tried to do in our turn with the legend. It means a lot to me. I grew up with Banner and Hulk and have been a fan of every incarnation. I’m really proud, and very blessed, to have been one of them and will be thrilled to see him live on through other actors. Hulk is bigger than all of us, that’s why we love him, right?
Sincerely,
Edward Norton”

This is the latest in a series of statements that Marvel representatives and Norton's manager have released.

Previously Marvel's president of production Kevin Feige released the following statement:
“We have made the decision to not bring Ed Norton back to portray the title role of Bruce Banner in The Avengers. Our decision is definitely not one based on monetary factors, but instead rooted in the need for an actor who embodies the creativity and collaborative spirit of our other talented cast members.
"The Avengers demands players who thrive working as part of an ensemble, as evidenced by Robert, Chris H, Chris E, Sam, Scarlett, and all of our talented casts. We are looking to announce a name actor who fulfills these requirements, and is passionate about the iconic role in the coming weeks.”

Paul the Psychic octopus will retire now

ORACLE OCTOPUS 'PAUL'ROOTS FOR Reason, LOGIC &...
According to Sea Life Managers the psychich animal - who predicted 8 of the most crucial matches of the 2010 FIFA world Cup, including Spain's triumph over the Netherlands in the Final - will retire now, leaving thousands of fans with a number of questions, "where did Paul come from?" "How does he predict the results?"

Tanja Munzig, of the Sea Life Aquarium in the western German city of Oberhausen, said they had received offers for Paul but he was not for sale.
"There are a lot of offers for Paul from betting offices and other areas. One thing is clear: Paul is staying with us," she said.
She added he would now "step back from the official oracle business".
"He won't give any more oracle predictions - either in football, or in politics, lifestyle or economy. Paul will get back to his former job, namely making children laugh."
Paul made his uncanny predictions for each game by choosing a mussel from one of two jars bearing the flags of World Cup opponents.
The two-year-old cephalopod quickly became a worldwide celebrity.
Seemingly unimpressed with his star status, Paul at first ignored the golden trophy - adorned with three mussels - placed in his tank.
But after several minutes he finally picked off a mussel and devoured it in front of TV cameras.

Roman Polanski a free man

After being arrested overseas, and facing a possible extradition to the U.S. for the charge of having sex with a minor back in 1977, film director Roman Polanski was released by the Swiss Government.

According to The Guardian, The Swiss government has decided NOT to extradite Mr. Polanski back to the U.S. (where he is wanted for sentencing for having sex with a 13-year-old girl 33 years ago) on the grounds that U.S. authorities failed to provide confidential testimony about Polanski’s sentencing procedure in 1977-78.

“The Swiss justice ministry will not extradite Roman Polanski to the United States,” Eveline Widner-Schlumpf, a ministry official said at a press conference in Bern. “The Franco-Polish film-maker will not be extradited to the United States, and the measures of restriction on his liberty have been lifted…Polanski is now a free man.”
